On June 3, 2015, I had the pleasure of attending the OBA Trusts and Estates Law Section Annual Award Dinner. Whaley Estate Litigation was a Gold Sponsor of the event, which celebrated three outstanding estate practitioners. Our very own Ameena Sultan was the winner of the 2015 Hoffstein Book Prize. Our professional colleagues, Corina Weigl and Liza Sheard, were the winners of the Widdifield Award and the 2015 OBA Award of Excellence in Trusts and Estates law respectively.
The Hoffstein Book Prize is awarded annually to a OBA Trusts and Estates Section member in good standing with less than 15 years of practice and who has demonstrated leadership in the trusts and estates bar through knowledge, experience skill, commitment, passion and strength of character, plus academic excellence through lecturing at a law school, participation in continuing legal education and/or academic writing.
Over the course of the evening, guests heard the winners speak of the lessons they learned from their years of practice and of the importance of believing in one’s ability to accomplish more professionally.
Congratulations, ladies!
