We are hiring! WEL Partners, a boutique estate litigation firm in mid-town, is seeking a law clerk/legal assistant with five years + litigation experience.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to handle legal assistant/clerking duties including: pro-active organization and accurate maintenance of electronic files, preparing/drafting correspondence, preparation of legal pleadings; record-keeping, and all skills required to assist lawyers in the on-going administration of litigation files.
This position will temporarily be a combination of remote and in-office work, as required due to pandemic restrictions and health guidelines.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have:
- a certificate or diploma from a recognized legal assistant or law clerk program;
- five+ years of direct, practical experience and current knowledge of legal process and procedure; estate litigation preferred
- command of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
- good time-management and organization skills;
- excellent communication skills—both written and oral;
- good interpersonal skills and friendly disposition; and,
- very strong and adaptable technology skills
This position requires a candidate able to navigate a busy practice; who is a self-starter with keen attention to detail and the ability to hold matters in strict confidence.
